Mountain Light Photography recently photographed the completed tenant finish at Cassiopeia, a one-of-a-kind bike shop, café, and recovery lounge in Boulder, Colorado. Designed by EJCM, the approximately 3,000-square-foot space reimagines what a neighborhood bike shop can be—creating an inviting destination where cycling, wellness, and community come together under one roof.
Thoughtfully divided into distinct yet connected spaces, Cassiopeia features a welcoming café with bar seating and a casual dining area alongside a thoughtfully curated retail boutique. The shop offers everything from performance cycling apparel to everyday lifestyle pieces, with an emphasis on bold design, feminine style, and products from women-owned brands. Beyond retail, the space also introduces an innovative “Velospa,” a recovery lounge designed to support cyclists before and after their rides, reinforcing Cassiopeia’s mission to care for the whole rider—not just the bike.
Created specifically with women cyclists in mind, Cassiopeia serves as more than a retail destination. It is a community hub where women can gather, learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with fellow riders. Every design element—from the warm finishes and inviting seating areas to the carefully curated merchandise displays—reflects that sense of belonging and empowerment.
As a woman-owned photography business based in Denver, Mountain Light Photography was honored to be selected by EJCM to document the finished project. Capturing spaces like Cassiopeia goes beyond simply photographing interiors; it’s about telling the story behind the design and showcasing how architecture can shape meaningful experiences.
